Optical Multi-service access

Optical Multi-service access

Converge different services over the same platform. In many networks, together with new IP services, other clients need to be transported, like for example legacy SDH, Fibre Channel or Video services. Optical multiservice access platforms allows to transport new IP services together with traffic with specific requirements in terms of transparency and latency (Fibre Channels, Video for example) and with legacy SDH signals.

Highlights / Steps to implement

Best exploitation

When multiple technologies are bound to share the same network, depending on the network type some technologies may suffer in performance. A convergent OTN based mapping layer, enhanced by WDM represents the best solution to exploit the fibre capabilities of capacity, latency and flexibility.

Platforms

As new technologies are added, multiple boxes are stacked. The convergence of several different client signals over a single processing platform optimizing each transport and respecting the end-to-end client requirements solves the issue of high footprint, multi-technology maintenance and reduces point of failures.

Our Solution

Metro

A platform especially built for metro transport, maximizing the fibre utilization, minimizing transport latency at the best TCO (total cost of ownership) of the transport infrastructure.

Performances

Each interface can be configured ‘run time’ to transport IP services, latency sensitive services (e.g. transparent Ethernet services or fibre channel) or SDH legacy services.
A simple to use network, easy to configure with a common way for end-to-end performance monitoring for any transported service. An enabler of SDN centric network migration.
